More thoughts on following Jesus

I have noticed a lot in the news of late about what it means to live the Jesus life (our current topic at church). Here are a few I’ve found:

Christians as Barbarians, an article about Erwin McManus’ new book

How Christians have become church consumers, an thought-provoking article by Bob Hyatt of Evergreen Church in Portland, Ore.

From Ronald Sider, The Scandal of the Evangelical Conscience

George Barna recently came out with new information about the state of the Christian church in America, noting the disconnect between “being a Christian” and actually following Jesus. Read his findings

Another article deals with how a follower of Jesus is to relate to global human rights, especially relating to Rwanda:

About John Henson

I am Pastor of Church for the Highlands in the Highland neighborhood of Shreveport, LA. I am also Chaplain of Volunteers of America of North Louisiana. I am husband to Jinny and father to a middle-schooler named Jack. Most of my time is taken up with starting a church, but I love running, a good cigar, and reading what mystics have lived and written. Member of Citizen Potawatomi Nation.
